The Methods’ Summer School 2021 is particularly directed at PhD students in the areas of International Relations, European Studies and Political Science, exploring qualitative and quantitative techniques used in Social Sciences’ research. The Summer School involved students from different nationalities and institutions, including from Brazil, China, Portugal, Russia, Turkey and the United Kingdom. During the Summer School days, students were introduced to different research methodologies and the challenges associated to the research process, as well as to the techniques for data selection, collection and analysis. A number of high level experts joined the sessions allowing a fruitful debate to take place throughout the working days. Students also presented and discussed their ongoing research work, and got involved in a practical exercise during the School, leading to group work and group presentations and discussion in the last day of the Summer School. This Methods’ Summer School was a joint organization of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and of the PhD Programme in International Politics and Conflict Resolution (CES|FEUC).
